What are these things?

I bought a jar at a yard sale. The jar was filled with a variety of these brass ends. They all have holes in the tops of them. Too small for welding wire. The flat tops make me think it's not for air. Maybe nozzles for some kind of liquid? I can't figure out what they would have been used for. Any ideas?

Re: What are these things?

Could also be air fittings used with automated machine manufacturing. My father accumulated a lot of these when he worked for a company that did aerosol canning.

Re: What are these things?

Pretty sure they are burner orifices. Google pictures of 'burner orifice' and you'll see just about every one of the ones he has pictured. So like Daryl said, he was most likely a retired HVAC guy.

Re: What are these things?

Thanks Bob.
I've probably got more than a hundred of them. I needed to id them so I can get rid of them.
And thanks again to everyone else.
