What auto insurance do you use?

Hey,

What insurance do you guys use for you Camaro. I've noticed that many people recommend using traditional insurance carriers such as State Farm. GEICO Vs State Farm: 9 Differences (Easy Winner). Do you guys use Progressive, Allstate, State Farm, or GEICO? If so, what are your monthly rates? Should I go with one of these carriers or should I get classic car insurance? To be honest, I need the most affordable insurance option. All I need is liability. Any advice that you can give me is well appreciated. Thanks guys!

Re: What auto insurance do you use?

I was paying $300 plus for nothing thru Stae Farm. Hagerty for $60,000 coverage is less than $600 for me.

Re: What auto insurance do you use?

NCM Insurance is for classics. I pay less than $600 / year for both cars (68 RS and 66 Corvette) for agreed value replacement ($25k & $40k) and $0 deductible. However, there are annual milage limits on each car and of course usage limits. Can't drive them to work or for daily errands.
Keep in mind, the cost will vary with your location. Miami may be very high compared to Podunk, IL. where we may drive 10 miles to find another car.

That's great. I didn't think I could get it that cheap. Mine is going to be garaged so I don't mind annual mileage limits. It won't be my daily driver.

I just shopped insurance last week. I have been with JC Taylor for around 20 years. I pay around $525.00 for $70K coverage. Hagardy wanted $585.00, and Grundy wanted $535.00. Geico was not an option as they don't have classic car coverage here, and neither does Alstate. All there wanted proof of a regular driver, and it needed to be garage. JC Taylor even wanted the garage detached from the house in case the house caught fire. Expect them to want pictures, and depending on the coverage, an appraisel, but just liability? That is not usually what classic car insurance is for.

American Modern Insurance (through Classic Automobile Insurance Agency).

I've never had a claim so I couldn't comment on their service.

Re: What auto insurance do you use?

I personally went with Grundy. No mileage limits and can go for a "Sunday" cruise without having to have any said reason(driving to car show, to get work done, etc). I have 130K agreed value for $1001/year. I know its not cheap but worth in the peace of mind dept. Just a couple weeks ago I was at my Upholster's shop and he wanted me to pull the car around from one garage to another on the other side of his shop as he is deathly afraid of my car lol. I pulled out onto the road and there is a pretty sharp corner just before his shop. This lady was flying and almost t-boned me. If my back tires didn't break loose and slide to the side Duke's of Hazzard style, she would have nailed me but atleast I would have been covered!

Re: What auto insurance do you use?

I've been happy with Hagerty for a long time. I pay about $150/year.
Moved the Camaro from my house to a commercial rental space down the street last month and my insurance went up $15.

If like you say, you only want liability insurance the name brands you listed may be a good choice.
