Speedo not Working

Ok I emailed Gene some pictures.Heres my problem maybe it will help someone else to to post.
My speed isnt working on my 69 with Tremec 5speed(3550) 4:11 rear
I put a drill on the end of speedo cable and speedo works.
Is the cable broken?
Do I have wrong "guts" for tremec?

Re: Speedo not Working

When the pinion is inserted into the transmission housing, can you turn the shaft? Perhaps the pinion and ring aren't matched and won't mesh with one another. I've also seen the clips on the ring come loose and freewheel on the tail shaft. I've also seen the square hole that the cable sits in get 'wollered' out and not spin the cable. Finally, I've seen speedo cables that weren't long enough to mate with both ends.

Re: Speedo not Working

Your adapter is missing the inner shaft/bushing that has the square for the cable end. I can't find any pics of mine, but it is the Forte adapter, and it has a square hole all the way to the end.
