94 camaro stalls when hot

Hi guys(and girls)

I have a 94 z28 with a 5.7 litre. My problem is when the car is warm it will randomly "cut out". If I am driving at a constant speed it will back fire, however if I am stopped or the rpm's are down when this happens the car will dye and take several minutes to fire buck up. when it does fire up again two things happen, the engine idles higher for a few minutes. secondly the radio will display an error code right when the car starts up. any suggestions would be appreciated

Reads like the Optispark (distributor) is dying out. A new unit from Summit Racing can be bought for replacement as there are no replacement parts other than cap, rotor, and plug wires.

Generally, if the unit needs replacing, the water pump is replaced also as the pump has to come off to replace the distributor.
As you can see, Snowball Effect, antifreeze change, and other ancillary items should be changed also.
