Electric fuel pump/Carb. problem @ idle

What is the proper way to configure an electric fuel pump to your carb. ?
My engine runs well but when you let off the pedal it dies.( fuel cuts off) if i adjust it the other way it floods out or runs too rich ? what or even if you could say listen to the radio with the key on and not be pumping gas down the carb? am i missing a part?some kinda regulator.. or is it just poor adjusting somewhere? I think i read a similiar post to mine months ago but couldn't seem to find it this go around.

Run your fuel line to a fuel pressure regulator, then to carb. You want 6 lbs of pressure.
Also, don't forget to use a relay to power the pump.

What are you adjusting^???
With a carb and its float bowl capacity..you could drive half way around the block with the electric fuel pump shut off completely.

Holley carbs like 6-7 psi fuel pressure ... Edelbrocks like about 5 psi.

Too much pressure lifts the needles off the seat and will flood the carb.

Also, along with a relay for the fuel pump, you should have a on/off switch in-case of a problem.
