1968 camaro 350 2 barrel

while driving and idling i am picking up a fuel odor, and i cant find a leak, any ideas would help, thanks in advance

Follow the fuel line back to see if it is wet. It could be the top of the tank has a pinhole. Or sending unit gasket. Rubber line that connects mainline with sending unit.
Just some thoughts.

If you can't find a leak and smelling fuel carb might be running to rich. mark

Check pinhole on fuel pump to see if diaphram is leaking. Check exhaust pipe to see if is sooty to confirm running rich.

There is a little metal cover inside the trunk below the latch plate that can be removed to inspect the rubber coulpling around the filler neck. If you have a black light, try using it to find fuel stains. Fuel stains won't glow but will have a yellowish appearance that stands out from the rest of the grime.

check the fuel line going to the carb it might be leaking there and evaporating and you cant see the leak,just look for stains on the intake area..
