Holley Carb Trouble

I have a Holley Street Avenger, #80670-1, which is 670 CFM duel feed carb. I got it in good used condition from a friend of a friend. It is installed on a stockish 350 in my 69 Camaro.

I just got the motor running after sitting for a few years and it truly kicked my butt. timming was way off, new fuel pump that was bad to a electric pump that had way to much pressure. After running way to much fuel pressure through it, it is now dripping fuel down threw the secondary Booster Venturi's. Keep in mind that it will do this with the proper fuel pressure. (new mechanical pump at about 5 psi)

I did not notice this before and would like to know what is causing it before I throw money at it.

Blown Power Valve?

Thanks for your time.

I have never had fuel leak out of the boosters like this. I have had the float level set to high and never had it do this. I will check the float level.

Anything else it could be?

Replace or clean the needle and seat. Might have trash in it.

Also what Fred said.

Re: Holley Carb Trouble

in addition to float level check butterfly position. if they are too far open then you could have enough air speed going by the boosters where they would start to pull fuel. there is a small set screw on the bottom of the base pass side to adjust butterfly opening. also clogged or partially clogged air bleeds can cause this

Re: Holley Carb Trouble

Thank you all for the help. Seems like it was just the float was set to high.
