9167 windshield washer

The winshield washer on my 1967 Camaro works all the time. The wiper motor is new and so is the washer. I have no clue how to get it to work only when you push the button. Help.

Is the wiper switch new? If not, that could be the issue.

A gentleman on here made a wiper motor test set-up with diagram for testing it out of the car. It was for a '69. I checked and '68 is similar. I wonder if '67 is? I compared it to the wiring diagrams in the AIM. It's pretty basic. One wire for high speed (black), one for low (light blue), and one for the washer (dark blue). The ground is actually through the wiper body, mounting rings, and car chassis. The switch should be grounded, as well. There is a fourth wire involved. It is the power for it all. The power wire jumps across the low speed and washer two wire plugs (yellow)... This is all for '68-9. But...
