Fuel guage

Had a problem with my guage reading way past the full mark when tank was full,so i replaced the sending unit now its fine reads right at the full mark when tank is filled,but now i run out of fuel when guage reads right around the 1/4 mark what would cause this?Any help appreciated.

Bent fuel pick up tube? Wrong ohms range sender?

I agree. Make sure that the pickup tube is at/near the bottom of the tank.

Guess this means i have too drop the tank again was hoping it was something easier.

I checked ohms on the brown wire in the trunk with it disconnected from the plug and key off was 40.7 ohms gas guage reads in between 1/2 and 1/4 does this sound about right?

Sender value goes from 0 to 90 ohms, thus 45 at 1/2.

When you "run out" and the gauge still shows 1/4 tank, how much gas does it take to fill it back up? That will tell you a lot. The tanks hold 18 gal when empty, but you can probably only use 17ish gallons of that.

I will check this next time i fill up although i dont like to use much pump gas this is something i will definitly check thanks.

So whats does everybody suggest try and bend the pickup tube a little so its further down near the bottom?If so how much should i bend it ?any other thoughts?
