Re: why is my 88 iroc-z not firing?
In changing the coil, is the ground lead screwed underneath one of the coil mounting screws?
Is the spring-loaded button in place between the coil and rotor?
Plugs being wet is good, meaning the the dist is sending reference pulses to ECM and injectors are opening - pulsing.
With timing light on #1 cylinder plug wire, is there a light? And does the flash show the timing marks? At the right time? 10° to 16° BTDC? With EST not bypassed, ECM is controlling aprk timing - disconnect the brown/black wire on pass firewall to bypass and spark will be distributor controlled.
