Exclamation 67 tach

I have a factory tach in my 67,engine is a 454 with a mallory HEI with built in coil,can I make the tach work? It dosen't now

Leonard,
You will need a Mallory tach adapter 29074 or 29078.
Call the Mr Gasket Co. at 216 688 8300 and they will put you in touch with the correct department that can give you the information you need.
Let us know what you find out about the problem.

Update,
Talked to Mallory tech-rep and was told that nether of the adapters mentioned will work with your factory tach.
For the time being I guess there is no way to use a factory tach with an HEI system without also using an MSD ign. box.

Where are you connecting your brown tach wire? Isn't there a lug on the distributor itself? Did you try searching around on here? I think I remember seeing a ton of threads on getting a tach working w/ aftermarket distributors...
