Intermittent electric issue

This has only started recently since it turned cold. I will be driving along and all the electric will flicker. Only seems to happen at night. The radio will stop and takes a minute to reset but I do not lose my presets. I don't notice a change in rpms or anything. It seems to happen more often when the heat is on. All the ground wires are tight and clean. The positives are in good shape too. My car is a 69 camaro, zz4, hei, original wiring. I am guessing its the original wiring but its all in perfect shape.

Re: Intermittent electric issue

Check the connector on the firewall below the master cylinder. It is the one with all the wires on it. It has a single bolt in the middle that might be loose. You might pull it apart and check / clean the connectors. Then reseat the connection tight.

Re: Intermittent electric issue

Also - Make sure your battery cables are clean and secure at both ends. On your pos battery cable follow the small wire that goes around to the front of the radiator core support. On the passenger side, basically just ahead of the battery, but on the other side of the core support, there should be a juction block. Make sure that the connection at that block is clean and secure. Also check on the bottom of your horn relay. Make sure the two red wires that attach with screws there have clean and secure connections.

After all those checks, look into the headlight power and grounds. Also check the dimmer switch. I only mention these because night = lights... That adds headlights, running lights, and dash lights.
