Starts then dies

I have 69 Camaro with about 150 miles (mostly street) on all new almost everything. This morning, after about 5 miles on the fwy, the tach started to bounce around wildly, then as I was pulling over, the car died. The car will start and stay running for about 30 seconds then die again. Tried it again, reved it and held it at about 2K, then same thing, just died. It seems to be getting fuel. The distributor is a small cap ready-to-run type. MSD coil. I finally had it towed home and was able to start the car and back it into the garage. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Starts then dies

gas tank painted silver? if not could be old time vapor lock. Wrong gas cap?
could be fuel filter partly cloged, could be fuel pump not up to par.
if new carb, might check for junk in bowls causing floats to not function properly. just a few to check ? good luck, Mike
