rear pw regulators get stuck

I have the electric life power window regulators. If I roll the rears all the way down and try to get roll them back up they get stuck. It's not a lack of torque in the motor because the metal arm actually starts to twist and then the wheel at the tip of the regulator pops out of the channel on the window. Does anyone else have this problem? I even had it when I was using manual regulators. It seems like a bad overall design because the point of contact between the regulator and the window is towards the rear and instead of pushing the whole window up it pushes the back of the window up causing it to tilt forward. Anyone have any fixes?

Also...
Are these wheels supposed to turn? Cuase they dont:

Re: rear pw regulators get stuck

You might want to try some grease on those channels to start with and make sure the wheels at least turn by hand. They do turn but not as much as you would expect, they act as a guide mainly. I thought there was some adjustability in terms of side play? Perhaps the wheels are to tight? Can you loosen them a little?

I recall that the track had some give and kicked out some as the window went up and kicked back in when it went down (side play) without that happening i could see things binding and poping!

Ohdang. There's slots instead of holes in the panel that the track is bolted into. I thought that was to adjust the window and I have the track tightened down and it doesn't move. Is it supposed to slide around? Yeah the wheels on the window can turn by hand but not with any kind of ease. The one with the spring does technically have a little play but the spring is so tight it does t move. I'll try it with the track sliding around and see bow that works.

The rear wheel is a tensioner and are tight. These wheels slip and rotate as needed but mostly slip!

The slots are for adjustment, they don't free ride in them. You need to properly adjust and apply white lithium grease to these tracks or you will forever have problems with them. Not to mention they will not line up with roof rail and door glass at all. Even on manual windows you should be able to reach from the driver's seat and roll the passenger quarter window up and down with no problems.

Re: rear pw regulators get stuck

I slapped some bearing grease along the track and it works great now! Even with the panel cover made by OER (which means it doesnt fit) pressing out tight against the window and causing all kinds of friction the window still manages to roll all the way up! Thanks!

Re: rear pw regulators get stuck

Glad I saw this , my drivers window started stopping half way all of a sudden. Looks like I'll be applying some grease.
