97 Camaro SMOG Diagnosis HC/CO/NO

All,

I just acquired a 97 Camaro 3.8 v6, it has 130k miles. I took it down to the smog test station and it failed miserably...

Test M1
MPH = 15
RPM = 1463
%CO2 = 14.5
%02 = 0.6
HC(PPM) = 114 (Max should be 52)
CO% = 0.51 (Max should be 0.49)
NO(PPM) = 1551 (Max should be 424)

Test M2
MPH = 25
RPM = 1438
%CO2 = 14.5
%02 = 0.6
HC(PPM) = 113 (Max should be 36)
CO% = 0.48 (Max should be 0.46)
NO(PPM) = 1663 (Max should be 711)

I plan on changing:

Oil Change
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires

Will this help and does anyone have any other recommendations like sensors or other emission electrical that I should also check?

By the way, the car runs GREAT, it accelerates smooth and idles smooth.

Thanks!

High HC and NO are usually caused by an improperly functioning EGR system. The passages may be blocked or the valve stuck closed.

Dan, is there an accompanying symptom when an EGR is malfunctioning or will this only show up on a smog report? As mentioned the car runs smooth.

Thanks,

ok, changed the EGR, now I get a check engine light. I removed the IGN fuse as instructed, but the light doesnt clear. The computer code is p0147 (Heater condition - heated oxygen sensor bank sensor #3), I think???

Any idea what I should do?
