Red face Wont start..lock cylinder ?

Please help, my 2000 camaro z28 will not start. I drove to gas station and it would not start back up for me. I towed it to my work. The pass side dash has a clicking noise, under the hood on the drivers side is also making the same clicking and the alarm (thru the w/s i can see is clicking or lighting up at the same speed as the clicking noises). I checked to make sure the alternator was good - it is. Some one told me they think it is the lock cylinder may have gone bad. But I do not know how to take it out and how difficult is it to install new one. Can someone please message me their thoughts. I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Wont start..lock cylinder ?

Have the battery checked first. Could be a multitude of things. Unlikely it is the key cylinder.

Re: Wont start..lock cylinder ?

agree dont think lock cylinder--postive battery connection or positive connections bad on pass side fenderwell--when you turn key to on position -does the alarm light on dash go out after few seconds--and after all this i would be checking starter
