I had an 89 IROC and it had the TPI engine, 16" X 8" wheels, stiffer rubber in the lower A frames, larger front and rear sway bars, the front one is hollow.
The front springs are stiffer and I think the shocks were a bit stiffer.

There was a lower axle ratio option, and on my 89 I got the dual cat exhaust which gave a higher HP rating.

The Iroc was the top dog, then the z28, then the RS, then the base car. The iroc's had the the highest hp, biggest rims (16x8) etc plus a slightly different ground effects package. I think the difference between the Iroc and z28 could be compared to a 4th gen SS and a 4th gen z28. The z28 which I believe was killed after 87 did not have the big tires or as much hp. The Iroc option was dropped in 92 I believe and then the z28 was the top car again. The RS was just an appearance package. You could get a v6 RS or v8 Rs.

1990 was the last year for the IROC-Z. In 91, they went back to the Z28, revised the rim style, added the big wing, uped the 350's HP to 245 and eliminated the option of having both a 350 and T-tops.
