hey how does it take for a tpi ecm to recalibrate itself? i hopped in mine this morning to rid the spiders from the exhaust and had to hook up the batt. and it ran funny going down the road..usually its i know its not something else

It varies. Basically what they have to do is relearn idle. Sometimes this can happen in one drive cycle. For others it takes two. The engine needs to warm up, it needs to be driven, stopped, parked, driven, AC on...that sort of thing. I don't recall the exact sequence. A friend of mine had a real problem with this. But the reason for him was he had a fresh motor. He'd drive it to the end of his road, think it wasn't acting right and come back and shut it off. Once he took it out and drove it for a few minutes, everything was fine.

sweet! i was searching through some manuals but couldnt find nothing to give me an idea ..thanks for the info i guess all i have to do is give it few miles.. cool daddy-o
