Question

I have 3 inch. headers on a stock 67' Camaro 327. thats not my problem, my problem is finding a place for my 2 3/4" pipes to come out. i would like to have them visible some where, but i cant figure out how to have them come out the back, except for under the gas tank and i dont know if thats safe (is it?) right now i have 2 1/4 inch. pipes comeing up in the wheel well, and comeing out in the rear, but i can not get them to stop rattling, no matter what ive done theres just not enough room. what can i do?

I have had problems with my tailpipes on my 68 in the past, i have a dual exhaust system. I eventually just had a muffler shop make new tailpipes, they go over the rear axle and dump downwards at the rear lower part of the quarter panel. They are attached to the rear frame rails with a rubber cushion, which is the correct way to do it. The way i have them dumping is also the correct way to have if for a camaro with dual exhaust. Two muffler shops have told me that it's not really good to have tailpipes exit out back on a 68, although i think it looks cool
