I just bought a 69 Z-28 and the heater does not work. The fan does not blow. I checked the fuse and it looks good. Could this be the blower fan, switch or something else? Where do I start? Also the lights in the instrument panel behind the speedodometer and the gas guage do not work. Will I have to take the instrument panel off to replace the bulbs or could there be another problem? Thanks for any help.

As for your dash lights, check all the fuses, the little short one is for the dash lights, it will only have power on both sides when the lights are on. it gets power from the tail light circuit.
On the heater motor, On your heater box there is a plug with three wires. This plugs into a series of resisters, for the various heater motor speeds. Unbolt the resister block and check the condition of the resisters, and the wire conections. You should be able to use a jump wire and bypass the resisters to check the heater motor operation. If it still does not run, a seperate ground wire to the motor, try a dirrect line to the power terminal of the motor, to check if it works. If not you are in for a nasty job replacing the heater motot if it is any thing like a 68.
