My brother took his 67 to a shop to have the flowies put on and those dumb motherf*****s had the "inlets" connected to the tailpipes!
He drove the car for about 2 weeks an I kept telling him that flowmasters dont sound like that!
so I took a peek under the car and BAMB!
Are "some" auto techs THAT stupid?

Considering there is a nice neon orange 'inlet' sticker on the inlet side, that's pretty dumb. Just curious, what did it sound like?

muffler mechanic must have been a Ford guy ? although Flowmasters come with the "dayglow"orange inlet sticker, its also has raised letters stating inlet side on the front of the case...Sounds like he should take it back and get fixed for free.IMO

It sounds like a muffler for a ford LTD...no rumble what soever.
He took the car back to the shop and the mechanic told him they could go on either way...So now I hafta spend a half a day Saturday to cut and reweld them on....My brother and I will be taking the car back and getting his $$ back.

the guy told him they can go either way? that is a load of crap. i think he just doesn't want to admit he is wrong. has he ever seen a cutaway of a flowmaster muffler? just show him a pic of one cut in half- i think they have some pics on the flowmaster website. once you see that, there is no way in hell you would think they are reversible- unless you are a total moron.after showing him that, raise hell until he fixes it. or have him pay to take it to a real shop. if he won't take care of it, take every opportunity you can to tell all everybody in the area what level of quality and knowledge they maintain there.
