Hi everyone, this is my first post here!

I have a 93 V6 with +163K that still runs good except for a rattling noise around the gearbox when shifting gears. This only happens when its cold and only for the first few miles. After that, its fine! Keep in mind, it happens ONLY when moving the shifter, and is not related to engaging the clutch.

Thanks up front!

Sorry, factory 5-speed manual transmission

kind of sounds like something's loose... and by the way... I can usually keep it from rattling by pulling out, engaging the clutch and very slowly shifting gears after the rpm's have returned to idle. but obviously, this results in VERY slow acceleration.
( not something you want if a semi is bearing down on your backside )

Probably an input shaft bearing loose(worn) until it heats up to remove the clearance.

I'd try some synthetic lube in the gear box.

Can't hurt
