my alternator light is on while the engine is running and when i rev the motor it will go a little dimmer.the battery shows 14.0 volts,what could it be?

If you have an external voltage regulator it could be that or bad ground somewhere. Mine was the voltage regulator. Good luck Pete

Had the same problem last year in my 68, found the altenator brushes worn out, popped in a new set and no more flickering light.

I had a similiar problem in my 68..Turned out to be a bad ground at the voltage regulator...Make sure the regulator is grounded good..Good luck

An open diode in the alternator may cause this as well. Yank the alternator off and take it to an autoparts store with an alternator tester. Many of the bigger name autoparts stores have the equipment and will do it for free.
