i am in the process of turning my 67-327 210hp back to stock. i have put on what i believe to be the original manifold and rochester carb....all the gauges read true(dwell, tach, points set ,vaccum.....) but it still is hard to start and dies out frequently......any suggestions on what else i should be looking for

Are you shure your dwell meter is accurate. I had a guy bring me his Camaro to fix and he had borrowed a neighbors dwell meter, it was wrong.
If the carb has been sitting for a long time it could need a rebuild. Try some carb cleaner on it at least.

what about the choke, Pull the air cleaner lid off after it sits all night, depress the accelator, does the choke butterfly snap shut, or is it lazy, if it is lazy replace the choke coil spring, if it snaps shut tight, start the engine, does the butterfly open 1/8 " if it does not then the choke pull off would be suspect, Does it run fine after 10 -15 minutes? or does it still die out?
if still die out then consider a rebuild of the carb.
