Question

I have a large exhaust leak at the collector of one of my exhaust manifolds. Will this hurt my engine? It only leaks bad at idle and then smooths out once I get to a constant rpm. I'm not hurting anything am I?? I know it can't be good for the motor. Thanks a lot.

Yes, it could eventually burn valves, but not real likely at the crossover. HOWEVER, exhuast leaks just bother the hell out of me. Get a gasket and do it up. If looks dont matter much, use copper RTV on it. Its the real hi temp stuff.

Spend the two dollars and fix it. There is really no reason not to. Is there?

well it's not the gasket... the studs on the collector have stripped out and I can't tighten up the collector or else I would be more than happy to buy the gasket. I have a set of headers that are ready to put on.. I just need the money and time to buy and exhuast to go with the headers and my worries are all over
