Well some have problems getting the HEI to fit in there without putting a 2" cutout in the firewall. Mine fits fine but I have a feeling my motor mounts aren't set-up right. If I was you (depending on how hot the motor is) either go with a MSD regular distributor or a crank trigger set-up. Moving the engine forward is gonna give you worse handling and pounding an indention in the firewall would be out IMO. You could also try a Mallory if you want. I've got one that needs a rebuild with the promaster coil I'd sell for $100 plus shipping. It really just needs new clips or a cap and rotor then test everything out. I've never run it, it just came with the car.
