I replaced my filler neck recently but when I accelerate hard or take a turn fast, gas still leaks out from the cap. Will a "quality reproduction" fix this? Has anyone bought a RS cap from Ground Up?
Do most people keep the steel cable on the gas cap? How do you keep the steel cable from scratching (more like gouging) the paint?

thanks
Mike

Do you not have a problem with the cable touching the paint?

thanks
Mike

I cut the cable that came with the cap that I ordered from Rick's. To me it had disaster written all over it as far as the paint is concerned.

I haven't had a problem with the stock RS gas cap cable chipping the paint on mine. Do you have it indexed correctly?

I bought a GM replacement cap for my 69Z that is supposed to be vented yet each time I remove the cap, I hear a huge vacuum release as I twist off the cap. Is this how it should be? Sure doesn't seem right.

My 69 makes the same vacuume sound. I believe it is because the orginal return fuel line is no longer used (orginal SS car). There is no where to release the pressure. I have a supo-dad vented cap also.

Thou shall not convet they neighbor's Camaro<P>69 SS350
