I have a 69 BB camaro with a 454. THe problem im having is that when i step on the clutch the steering gets stiff. It almost feels like it locks up. Any ideas why this might happen?

Hi Skyler - do you have manual or power steering? I can't think of any real connection between the steering colume and the clutch linkage. Did this just start since the BB transplant?

Have someone work the clutch and starting at the steering box look for movement that may be binding any of the steering components as the clutch is pushed in and out. Follow up under the dash the same way.

You'll get these symptoms if your PS pump is going bad b/c at idle, the pump may not move enough fluid to provide steering assist. Is it stiff with the car idling, in neutral with the clutch out? If you have manual steering, DjD is correct that you need to look for a bind situation...
