92 Camaro with a 350 TBI will not start. Yes the engine was changed to 350 TBI. Any help troubleshooting what I might check. Engine seems to be getting gas but will not "fire". Engine turns over but will not start! Also have had trouble in heavy traffic when you are not giving it gas and stopped in traffic for it to just cut off. It usually will start right back up ....but not this time! Also what type of ignition would it have and could their be some type of "computer problem" with the ignition?
Is it definately getting spark? If so, then maybe the air filter is clogged and it is causing it to flood. I know this sounds dumb, but check little things like this first. How do you know it is getting fuel? Can you actually see the TBI injectors pumping it in?
92 is probably still on ECM, TBI or TPI? or even carburated...
at any rate. your going to have to look into ignition problems. pull a plug wire and "take one for the team" see if it gets spark.
(actually get a tester light, dont stick your finger in the spark plug wire) depending on your distributer, GM HEI ignitions have a ICM (ignition control module) its a $9.00 piece sold and any auto parts store, it has 4 wires on it. change that and your back in buisness. (mine went bad just like yours after my 305 to 350 conversion on my 91 Firebird)
