I own a 95 Z28, and tonight my car died for the second time this month, I hate to see my baby on a flat bed. Anyway, she seems to run fine, then all of a sudden it dies, and I mean dead, no radio, dash lights, nothing but the headlights, dome lights, and door bell. When it happened last week I towed it to the dealer, and they got it running, but said "if it happens again, take it to a chevy dealer." I took it to the dealer I bought it from JEEP GMC, where I bought it used 2 yrs ago. Of course my warranty won't cover anything electrical, so I paid $70.00 for the work, and $51.00 for the toe. Tonight it already cost me $100.00 for just the toe, the car acts like is getting no power after the first turn on the ignition
switch. Could it be my chip on my key? Please help, I'm running out of money, and ideas. The car only has 56000.00 miles on it.

start at the source. the battery cable goes to the starter, from there it is distributed thru fusible links (check these first) to the ignition switch and fusebox. headlights domelights and door chime are on the same circiut, and they dont go thru the ignition switch. so this very well could be your problem. as for the chip, i think you should still get accesory power even if it were bad.
