When rolling down the door windows on my 68 the glass appears to fall about 1" once the glass leaves the top seal, after that the window works just fine up and down. I checked all the regulator and window bolts everything is tight. Any idea what to look for?

Perhaps the felts are too tight/close and hold the glass at first and then let go? I had the same problem before I converted to power windows on mmy 68 Camaro, but suspect that the dirty roller channels were causing the binding. I thoroughly cleaned the new channels and changed rollers and lubed the them before install and all worked fine.

Hi Dan,
Good to see a fellow Canuck on line here,
What happens when you try to roll the window down when the door is open?
Does it still clunk the one inch?
If it does not, it sounds like the glass has been adjusted inwards at the top, too tight,
It is hanging up on the upper seal, and when you crank the window down you actualy have to pull it down, once it clears the seal gravity takes over and it drops that inch.
Chances are if you adjust the glass to fix this problem, you will land up with wind whistles.
Can't have the best of both worlds.

I'm sure you have already checked it out but on one I had it would do that when it got about an inch from the top. In my case I would have to lift it up with my hands for the other inch to the top. My problem was that there was a tooth missing or broken and when it reached that spot it would slip.
