hi !

i have an ignition problem , the engine don't start anymore.
The starter do work but there is no spark
Please can you tell me HOW i can check the coil and then check the distributor?
I 'd like to run directly the coil from the battery, jumping all the wires.

All i did since last start is :
rebuilt my muncie, so i needed to remove the distributor cap, and i also installed a new oil pressure sending unit so i disconected some ignition wires. But i think i re connect them all in place.

PLease tell me what you think is the best to check and to do .
I really want to have my engine started. i discovered this late today and haven't check anything yet . I don't know how to do this either.

I hope you'll help me,
THank you !

Eh yuck. Can you do a full photo spred of your wiring? Anyway I think the hei distributors are real picky for wiring up the tach if your engine is upgraded with one. Hopefully that wire didn't get wired wrong because it's a death blow of sorts for the distributor.
The coil check I believe is a resitance check. Not getting the books out the best I can tell you is get the chiltons or other manuals.
Worse yet the type and year of stuff you have isn't listed. Good luck.

start by making sure you have 12 volts to coil < HEI >, or at balast<points> and check to see you have voltage<about 6>on other side of balast. Balast are know for going up.

Do you have the High Energy Ignition type - large distributor, or stock points ignition?
We can't help without some basic information.
