Have a Accel supercoil for a HEI. Has anyone heard of these going south before? Just put it in two weeks ago, was driving yesterday and the car went dead w/o warning. Put an old one in that I had and the car fired right up. Did I by chance by a defective unit or is this indicative of some other problem.

I would sooner blame a module. they are more prone to going south when warming up. the time it took to install the new coil may have given it time to cool off and start right up. I have seen this many times.
