Question

Low trac comes on when I am braking and come to a stop, usually at low speeds in all conditions, wet and dry pavement. Rarely comes on when braking at high speeds. Brake pedal drops an inch or so, low trac goes off after about 20 seconds. I've taken it to a dealership for this problem 3 times. They have no clue. Any ideas?

the low traction light comes on when there are slippery conditions when driving its a safety feature in the newer carmaro. when it first came out people complained about it becuase they said it took away from its sporty feel so chev toned down how much the computer controls the wheel speed when its slippery

the abs light comes on when there is a problem with the abs system

the brake light will come on when there is a problem with the brakes

This is a tricky one. The low trac light ties into the abs, and is basically the car trying to tell you that the back wheels are spinning faster than the fronts. Check the rear wheel speed sensor for a loose connection. Does the ABS work?

Actually I had this same problem with my 94 camaro and all I did was I had to change my break pads.....and it fixed. It has done that to me once when I bought it two years ago and did it again not too long ago and it turned out I needed my break pads changed again. Might try that. Who knows!?

Jennifer, I dont think that changing brake pads have anything to do with the sensor for the low traction light, but new brakes are always nice.

Chris, changing the break pads worked for my car and I haven't had any problems with the low trac light anymore. Who knows!? This had happend to me just a couple times and each time it was time to change the pads. Weird! Might just be my car. I dunno

I had the same problem with my 95, I took it to the dearlship 3times and they could not fix it. The problem was the abs speed sensor.

I just purchased a 95 z28.
The LOW TRAC light comes on when I start the car.
I can presume this is for traction control?
If so, why does it come on when I brake hard on slippery roads (is it tied in with the ABS)?
If there is traction control on my car, why can I easily burn our on slippery roads? Shouldn't the LOW TRAC light come on as well?
Did all the 95 Camaros come with traction control?
