I have a race prepped 350 turbo tranny in a 69 camaro, and I have only had for week and last night It started dumpping tons of trans fluid. I checked all the lines and they are not the problem. Here is the funny thing it only leaks with the trans in reverse. I drove it about 30 miles with no problem but when you put it in reverse you got a problem. The fluid is pouring out of something on top of the trans about even with the pan. I am thinking it might be a tail shaft seal but that's just a quess. It is definately not comming out of the pan.. I double checked that. Any Idea where it could be comming out of??? Keep in mind it is not just dripping or spraying out it is gushing. I just paid a grand for this thing and I was supposed to go racing today. This really sucks! ANy help you could give would be appericated. Thanks

I had the same problem with mine. It turned out that I had overfilled it because the dipstick that came with it was too short and wasn't accurately reading. I replaced gaskets and seals a few times and finally i just left it alone and it stopped doing it. I am not saying this will work for you (I wouldn't advise ignoring it) but it might be the same problem. Next time it leaks, don't refill it and see how it shifts. If it is sloppy, you need more fluid, if not, it might be ok.

Never mind, Had a thought but you ruled that out while I was posting. Hope it's an easy fix.
