I have a 85 V6 2.8 multiport and we can't get the wiring in the right order. We used 162534,152463,163542,142563,153642,164352,145632,1 46532,146532,143652.

Most Chev V6's I believe fire 1 6 5 4 3 2 but the 60deg V6's (I think your '85 2.8 is a 60 deg) fire 1 2 3 4 5 6.

The driver side should be cyls 1, 3 & 5 and the pass side is 2, 4 & 6. Most parts stores have repair books that would have this info and a call to the local Chevy dealer would confirm the order for you. You could also remove the valve covers and watch the rockers as you turn the engine over slowly.
