water out of exhaust - Team Camaro Tech

when i start my car it spits some black onto the pavement, then after running for a little bit, the exhaust pipes start dripping water... any idea what's going on here? is there water getting into my engine???

that is normal. water is 99% of what comes out of a tailpipe. when it is cool, it comes out as liquid water. when it warms up, it comes out as mostly invisible steam.

its only condensation from the hot exhaust gas flowing through the cooler pipe. its normal.

The black you speak of is an indication of a rich idle condition... The water is as the others have said.
