I have a 91 rs camaro,305fi,at,vin#e,ac,not modifed.problem started in 93 when I bought the car,THE CAR STARTS THATS NOT THE PROBLEM,problems is it makes a chattering noise while its trying to start.not a grinding or anything like that you would hear if it was shimmed wrong, almost like if you were to put the battery cable on and off at a very very rapid rate while trying to start the car.I have bypassed everything by starting it at the starter itself. So im confident that its the starter and not the vats or ign, etc.Every time its done this before a new starter would fix the problem, about every 6 months I would need a new starter.and yes they were ac delco.now im on the tenth starter this week and its not going away, its not a heat problem, because these are new starters.if I left out any info let me know, please for the love of god help me fix this stupid starter problem

When you replace the starter this time go to the wreckers and find the bracket that hooks on the starter end plate, and bolts to the block below the # 6 & 8 plugs, this should solve your problem. When the starter was first replaced the Mechanic or who ever was probaly too lazy to hook it up and trashed it.
