i do now how to build switch out motors but the computer is what i am refering to some say if u put a chip and a 350 thottle body then it will work and some say u have to swith out the whole ecm and i want to know before i waste any money
any comments would really help

ive called jegs and summit even asked locals but none are really sure

I assume you are switching to a 350. According to my information, you will need to switch the prom or the entire ECM. The throttle body flow should be adequate. The most you are allowed to increase displacement is about 10% before you have to make changes to the computer. 10% of a 305 rounds off to 30 cubic inches, so a 350 engine will be well above 10%.

Biz,
We did the same exact swap, except in a 86 Blazer. We used everything from the 305 and it ran great, even got better mileage than the 305. Everyone told us we would have to swap the prom in the ecm, but we decided to try it first the way it was. What a difference in power in that 5000lb "brick"
