would my car run hot if i have a bad catalytic converter. can someone write back asap please.

Yes and it will run like crap. One of the easiest ways to check is to blow a hole in the pipe between the manifold and converter. Then start the car and see if exhaust gases are blowing hard. If not, you can weld the hole shut with the torch.

if you have developed a whooshing sound form your exhaust when you rev the engine,it's probably a clogged converter.don't know where but you could install a straight through "test pipe"to replace the cat to see if it helps.

under what conditions is it running hot??? cruise speeds???? low speeds in town??? sitting idling???

how long does it take to occur??? details...

68 camaro... your tipical hipo 350... stl crnk... h beam rods full floating pistons mild cam, auto trans (wanting 700r4)... gears 3.73's... smokes tires lots of fun... also 87 IROC 305TPI 5-speed
