Thumbs down

I've just finished reinstalling my fuel tank into my '69 after cleaning the exterior and painting it. I installed a new sending unit also. My problem is that it appears to be leaking from the point that the filler neck is soldered to the tank. Is there any way seal this from the surface?

Cool

You could try some JBWELD or liquid solder around the area that is leaking.
Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had luck in the past taking them to my local radiator shop and having them solder it. They filled ity with water first to clean it out. Then I had to flush it out with solvent to remove the water. Then again a new one is not that bad in price and adds alot to the underside of the car.

Question

Dave91rs, what is 'ames'? If it is an Auto Supply store, is there another source (such as AutoZone, Discount) for the sealer? Thanks for the suggestions. I had just finished installing the tank after cleaning and repainting it and really don't want to have to remove it again.
