My son is second owner of 92 Camaro and it is original. He has been having an intermintant starting problem. He has installed new wires, plugs, starter, battery, fuel filter, fuel pump, an a number of other things. There is no real consistancy of the problem [hot, cold, sitting all night or stopping starting many times in a row etc.] When it starts, it pops right off. When it does't, it is just like there is no fuel or fire. He has checked and gets some spark at the plugs. He has not changed the computer. He thinks that he has it traced to the security ignition. He has cleaned the ignition and key with electrical cleaner and it appeared to help, but he thinks it was just hap stance that it worked. He is full time college and working with tight budget.
Any help would be appreciated.

Jmarc, Welcome
Sounds like it may be a security key issue. Dealer gets about $20.00 for a new key with the resistor pellet in it (option 1)

Read this, what MarkC wrote (option 2)

Good Luck

This has been a previous topic. The neutral safety switch devlops high resistance; replacing it seems to solve the problem.
