84 Camaro, 350 eng.

After finally finding a pair of cheap headers, 30$ CND. (About 5 cents american) They came off a second gen, firebird. I know they should fit with some creative hammering. My questions are Being that they will not connect properly to the existing y-pipe, needing a custom y-pipe made. Should I instead of paying for custom y-pipe fabrication, go with custom dual pipes...? Has anyone done this, is it do-able? What problems would I encounter? Would I realy gain that much hp from it..? Or, will it be the best kick-*** decision I could have ever made...?

It's doable, but going to be very pricey. I would just have a custom Y pipe made. We did that on my brother-in-laws 355 SBC '82 Camaro Z28. Then ran a single 3" pipe back to a Flowmaster muffler, dual 2.5" out. Sounds good and runs awesome.
