Have a 1995 corsica that will not shift into reverse, have all forward gears. Have changed filter and fluid, no metal particles or particles of any kind. System was over filled and filter looked to have never been changed. Car has over 113,000 miles on it. Fluid was nasty looking but did not appear to be overheated. When going from neutral to reverse, gear appears like it is trying to go into gear. Hope that it is a bad park/neutral switch. This is a easier and less expensive fix than having to send it to the shop. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

the neutral safety switch has nothing to do with the tranny operation once the car is running. i think there is something wrong inside the tranny. sorry.

hey trickster good to hear from ya. my friend owns a tranny shop an i have seen this more than once find a shop you can trust to do a reliable rebuild or who is willing to fix whats wrong. most tranny shops wont do any but a full rebuild or else the car keeps coming back an every thing else that goes wrong is there fault.
