I just installed a new battery and now it seems as though the engine at idle wavers about once every five seconds. The battery has the same CCA rating as the old one although it is a different brand. Any input would be appreciated.

You may want to re-check your connections for rust, dirt, or loosness. It sounds obvious, but the cable wires can create a whole hoard of problems over the tinest imperfections.

Thanks, I will do that, but do you think that it could have something to do with the alternator? The jumper cables were accidently hooked up the wrong way and I think that it could have damaged the alternator. I'm going to get a rebuild kit and go from there.
