I have 3 issues with my car that I would appreciate some help with: (305 V8 engine code E, TBI, 91 RS)
1. There is a (red, transmission?) fluid that is building up around my air filter. Is there some type of seal around the carburetor that needs to be replaced?
2. My cooling fan only consistently operates while the A/C is on. The fan does not normally kick on by itself, especially after long drives. I don't know if the relay is good, but the A/C will kick it on. What is a PCM, could this be the issue, and if so how should I go about testing/fixing this problem. The temperature sender was replaced about three months before I experienced this problem once again, could something be "shorting out" the sender?
3. As a result of using my A/C to keep the engine from overheating there is now a noise coming from the area of the compressor when I turn the A/C on. I now use this method only in an emergency and never for long. This is beginning to wear on my drivebelt. Could this be the waterpump or would the noise be more consistent? Maybe it is a bearing going bad in the compressor? I have noticed coolant coming from different areas of the engine where the hoses connect. Is this a possible sign of the water pump going bad, or is this possibly another problem?
I really appreciate any help anyone could give on any or all issues, I would like to get these things taken care of ASAP, before even more goes wrong, aghhhhh.
