I have a 68 camaro with new battery, battery cables, alternator, ignition switch and a rebuilt starter. Sometimes, when I try to start it nothing happens, not even a click from the starter. But if I put it on a charger for a few minutes, it will crank. Any suggestions?

Check the shim on the starter it may be too tight against the fly wheel.

re-check ALL the connections. even the big bulkhead where the engine harness plugs into the firewall. check grounds- they are VERY important.

Take a volt-meter and measure voltage drops accross connections while turning the key to the crank position. Examples are ground battery terminal to ground battery post. Then measure the ground terminal to engine block, positive terminal to positive post, etc. If you see more than, say 0.7volts, you've probably found a bad connection.

I ran into a similar problem. Come to find out my battery cables were too small. went to a larger gage cable.

I had the same problem with my 68, it turned out to be a loose connection at my ignition switch. I know you said you have a new ign. switch but you never know it could be a loose connection. Just a thought good luck.
