Fuel pressure problems 1990 RS 3.1

Slowly in half of day it will only idle. Idle bad too. I have more fuel pressure on return line rather than pressure line. I have changed the fuel pump and fuel filter.Once you give it any gas she cuts out.We do have an electric fuel pump.

Re: Fuel pressure problems 1990 RS 3.1

Hoses at tank connected backwards?
Is the vacuum hose on the fuel rail pressure regulator wet inside? Broken diaphram, if it is.
More symptoms needed. If fuel return is restricted, then pressure built up in return line will be felt in supply line.
You can hot wire the fuel pump by removing the relay and plugging in a male-to-male jumper on the larger gauge red wires in the socket. Relay socket is by the drvr side hood hinge.
