My passenger side window on my '91 RS+ will sometimes freeze while running up or down. If I wait several seconds I can run it down or up the rest of the way.

Is the drive mechanism dirty and can it be cleaned? The tech manuals I have found in our local libraries have been no help.

I had the same problem with the driver window several years ago but I think I smoked the mechanism because it will not run down.

Thanks,
Chip

Sticking tracks maybe. If it's rubber seals on the door I don't know what lube is best. Cleaned mine on another car with silicone to preserve the rubber and all it did was soak it up then sit there super clean and sticking to the window squeeking and dragging up and down it was so clean. Had a problem one time where the window motor was lose and I think the gears were binding causing the motor to stop. Grease the tracks inside also.
Oh yah. You can buy just the brushs for the motors which is way cheaper.
