intermitently runs like [email protected]

2000,3800 II-v6,5-spd. Mostly will run well at idle but occasionaly idle gets low and sputters. Randomly loses power durring acceleration or cruising and sputters, check engine flashes but will stop and run normal for a while. Some times will go for days with no problems. Had replaced filters, plugs and wires. Pulled code for #5 random misfire so I replaced all coil-packs. Put fuel additive and filled tank, cleaned all ground wire connections I could find. All guages show good and battery is new. This morning 11-7-12, did not want to start when usualy has no problem. After a few tries it cranked but was very rough. Condition, though intermitent, seems to be getting worse. Have cleaned MAFS 2 times and checked for faulty wires or connections. Car has only 50k mi. but sat up for 6yrs. Started and ran great from NY to La. but has been a problem child since. Have experimented with different fuel grades and sources. Am about to replace ICM and MAFS and maybe the crank sensor. Have been told there are several possibilities but don't know much about these new computer engines. What can I do to find the culprit ? outside of replacing all the associated parts
